HI! My name is Leslie Conyers and this year I will be the Fourth through Seventh Teacher. This is my sixteenth year at St. Mary's. I taught for eleven years in various grade combinations ranging from third grade to eighth grade before transitioning to principal. I was the principal for the past five years, however, after much thought and consideration I have decided to step down and return to the classroom, where my true passion lies, teaching.
I was born and raised in Buchanan. There, I attended public school and went on to pursue a degree from Central Michigan University (Fire Up, Chips!) in Elementary Education with a minor in Geography and Science.
After graduation, I returned home where I began substitute teaching and later a full time teaching position at a local elementary school. It was during this time that I learned of an opening at St. Mary's School. At the time, I was not Catholic so I took a chance and inquired about the open position. Once hired, I ended up falling in the love with the Faith and became Catholic during the Easter season of 2008.
